The moustaches are coming back to Holyrood Park. Edinburgh MoRun returns on Saturday 28 November with four distances and a history in the capital stretching back to 2013.

That first Edinburgh MoRun attracted more than 1,000 runners to Holyrood Park, with an estimated £30,000 raised for charity. Thirteen years later, the moustaches, fancy dress and serious purpose behind the fun remain very much part of the event.

Runners can choose a 5K, 10K or Half Marathon, while younger MoRunners have a chip-timed 1.5K Mini MoRun. The 5K completes one lap of the Holyrood course, the 10K two and half marathon runners face four.

And Holyrood doesn't provide an entirely gentle backdrop to the fun. MoRunning describes the predominantly road course as hilly from the start through the opening 2K, so anyone arriving purely for the comedy moustaches will still have some proper running to do.

The Half Marathon starts at 9:30am, followed by the 5K and 10K at 10:00am. There are prizes for the fastest MoBro and MoSista, but speed isn't the only route to glory, with fancy dress, the best Mo and other spot prizes also recognised.

Behind all the fun is the reason MoRunning exists. The series began in 2009 to support Movember and men's health, with Edinburgh joining four years later.

Entries are open for the 2026 edition, giving Edinburgh another chance to grow a few moustaches – real or otherwise – and get moving for Movember.
