Canter Down To Crowle
May is the perfect month for this village 10K in Worcestershire...
Runners and families are set to gather in the Worcestershire village of Crowle for the 24th staging of the Crowle 10K on 10 May, with the popular event once again offering racing opportunities for all ages alongside a lively fun-day atmosphere.
Starting and finishing at the Parish Hall, the 10K begins with a lap of the field before heading out onto a closed road route through the surrounding countryside. The course takes in Sale Green and Old Turnpike Road before returning to the village, where enthusiastic local support traditionally lines the streets to welcome runners back toward the finish.
Organisers say: Our race offers mild inclines, a well-loved switchback section on Trench Lane and a closing lap of the field all of which give runners a varied and engaging challenge on a scenic rural route."
Alongside the main race, younger runners can take part in two junior events, with a quarter mile fun run for under nines and a one mile race for under 16s. Organisers expect strong interest again this year following high participation in previous editions, with on the day entry available for the junior races.
All finishers receive medals, prizes are awarded across multiple categories and the day is rounded off with tea, homemade cakes and a barbecue, creating a relaxed celebration for runners and spectators alike.
