Two Reasons To Run Coventry

Pick a race at the all new Coventry Running Festival...

Runners across the West Midlands have an exciting challenge on the horizon with the Coventry Running Festival set to take place this spring on 27 April. The event will see the return of the much-loved Coventry Half Marathon, joined by a brand new 10K race, providing more opportunities for runners of all abilities to take part.

Starting on Gosford Street, participants will weave through the historic city centre and surrounding areas before reaching the stunning Coventry Cathedral ruins and new Cathedral, which will serve as a breathtaking backdrop to the finish line. The scenic route has been designed to maximise both the running experience and spectator engagement, with plenty of ideal spots for supporters to cheer on participants.

The Coventry Half Marathon has long been a favourite among runners, and organisers are thrilled to bring it back to the race calendar. Much of the original popular route has been retained, taking runners through the heart of the city before heading out towards Warwickshire’s picturesque countryside.

With the addition of the Coventry 10K, the event is now even more accessible. Organisers, Run For All, are encouraging runners, joggers, and walkers of all fitness levels to get involved. Whether participants are training for a longer race, aiming for a personal best or raising money for charity, the event promises an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.

Runners will cross the iconic Coventry Cathedral finish line, where they’ll be greeted with huge crowds of supporters, a buzzing Event Village and a goody bag filled with well-earned treats—including a bespoke medal to commemorate the day.

Speaking about the event, organisers said: “We wanted to open up the day to as many people as possible, and the addition of the 10K race is a fantastic way to do that. The Coventry Cathedral finish is a truly special way to complete the race, with an incredible atmosphere and plenty of support from the crowd.”
