Woodland Trails Await At Claygate Country Five Run
Popular Surrey five miler returns...
The Claygate Country Five Run returns to Surrey on Sunday 5 July 2026 as part of the long running Claygate Flower and Village Show weekend. Organised by the Claygate Flower and Village Show Society, the five mile event starts at 10.30am from Claygate Recreation Ground and continues a tradition that dates back to the 1980s.
The course combines trails and road sections with much of the route taking runners across footpaths around Claygate Common and Arbrook Common. Moderate hills and woodland scenery give the race a relaxed but competitive feel, while the updated route introduced in recent years makes greater use of the common’s pathways.
The event regularly attracts hundreds of runners ranging from juniors through to veteran age groups. Chip timing is included, making it suitable for runners chasing a strong summer run as well as those looking for a friendly community atmosphere.
Entries for the 2026 edition are open online ahead of race day. With its mix of woodland trails, village atmosphere and established local support, the Claygate Country Five Run remains one of Surrey’s well known summer running fixtures.
Entries are available now via Sport Systems.
