Is BOO For You?
Scenic 10K returns to Bridge of Orchy this November...
The BOO 10K will return for its third edition on Sunday 3 November, based in Bridge of Orchy the event is frequently billed by organisers as 'Scotland’s most beautiful 10K' and, with a route that includes some of the West Highland Way, it is easy to agree.
The route begins at the bridge itself and is followed by a tough 2K climb up the West Highland Way path although previous runners suggest the scenery helps with this lung-busting section thanks to outstanding views of Loch Tulla.
Runners are then treated to a quick descent to the road section which will allow them to get their breath back, find their pace and take in views of the spectacular Black Mount Estate. The last stretch of the race will see runners heading back to Bridge of Orchy with Loch Tulla on the left, views of Beinn Achaladair, Beinn an Dothaidh and Beinn Dorain inspiring everyone to a sprint finish back at the bridge!
The event has become so popular that there are few places left at this year's outing, but don't worry Bridge of Orchy Hotel has this to say: Guests staying with us on on Saturday 2 or Sunday 3 November will receive complimentary entry to the race. It's our way of saying thank you for being part of the excitement.
"Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to stay active, all ages and fitness levels are welcome. So lace up your running shoes, and let's make it a day to remember!"
Close to 100 runners took part in the 2023 event with Sam O'Neill of Linlithgow Athletic Club achieving top spot in 38:30 while Catherine Barclay of Rosie's Racers took first in the women's race in 47:55.
As always there will be free parking and toilet facilities are provided at Inveroran Hotel, and if you’re travelling by train or bus, or not the designated driver, then the hotel bar is the perfect place for a post-race pint!
