All Eyes on Manchester
As attentions turn to Manchester for this weekend's marathon, we look ahead to next year's big date...
32,000 people will make their way to Trafford and Manchester this weekend for what is shaping up to be the biggest and best adidas Manchester Marathon yet. Established as one of the largest in Europe, the event raises millions for charity and brings huge benefits to the local area thanks to increased tourism and collaborative community schemes.
A spokesperson from organisers, Human Race, told us: "Our team’s full attention is on helping everybody taking part achieve their goals and have a brilliant experience this weekend. But with demand high, we're already making plans for next year with the date just announced..."
Yes, a date is already in place for the 2025 edition of the adidas Manchester Marathon, which will take place on Sunday 27 April. This means that for the first time in recent history, the UK’s two largest marathons (London and Manchester) will take place on the same day, with a combined 90,000 people likely to attempt an organised 26.2-mile challenge across the two cities.
Guaranteed public places for the 2025 adidas Manchester Marathon will be released from midday on Tuesday 16 April, 2024. If you would like to know more, visit the adidas Manchester Marathon website.
In addition, the popular Manchester Half Marathon will return on 13 October 2024. Record demand saw almost 10,000 people register in the launch phase. The next 4,000 places will be available at a reduced Spring Saver price from Thursday 11 April for all who signed up for priority access. Entries will then open to the general public on Sunday 14 April at 8am. You can sign up for priority access by visiting the Manchester Half website now.
