Happy 40th Anniversary Windsor
Veteran status achieved by Windsor Half Marathon this year...
Another great race in the South region will reach veteran status this year when the Windsor Half Marathon celebrates its 40th-anniversary run on Sunday 29 September 2024. Windsor Half Marathon concludes the Windsor Running Festival with the 19th Windsor Women's 10K the previous day.
With just over three months to race day and summer weather finally arriving, this is the perfect time to prepare for your first ever 10K, a debut half marathon, or even a two-day challenge by tackling both races but only if you are of the female persuasion!
The focus on Saturday 28 September is on women and the memorable strapline for the Windsor Women's 10K by Running4Women is: “It’s More Than a Race – It’s a Community!”
The headline charity for 2024 is Wellbeing of Women – celebrating their milestone of 60 years (1964 – 2024). Over the past six decades, Wellbeing of Women has invested over £68 million in hundreds of pioneering medical research projects focused on women’s health and wellbeing, dedicated to improving knowledge and understanding of rare and common women’s health conditions.
Standard entries for Windsor Women's 10K are available from £26.50 and already 1,000 are registered from Abby to Zuzana. Are you in? Last year's winner was W40 Laura Baylis (Datchet Dashers, 40:54) and there were 805 finishers in 1:53:10. Former star entries include five-time Olympian Jo Pavey (Exeter Harriers).
The fee for the Windsor Half Marathon – with its unique and exclusive access to a private road within the beautiful Crown Estate of Windsor Great Park – is £40 and more than 3,000 are already signed up from Aaron to Zuzanna.
