Stanton Stile event ready to hop to it
Less than two weeks to go to this multi-terrain treat.
There are places still available in the Stanton Stile Hop 5K & 10K on Saturday 21 May in beautiful Shropshire countryside and in aid of local charity Little Bags of Kindness. A small event with a big heart, it promises an enjoyable run with a few obstacles to climb over and a sense of satisfaction.
The success of the inaugural 2018 event was repeated in 2019 as it grows in popularity, selling out beforehand – such is the demand amongst entrants who are attracted by the delightful course and location. All of which looks even better on a warm, sunny day of which there is a distinct possibility if the Met Office forecast holds true.
Youngsters can try the 5K if they are aged 9 and over with the 10K open to ages 16 and above. The under 9’s are not forgotten as there is a 2K Fun Run on a flat field and whilst this is free, participants are asked to donate to the event’s chosen charity.
All three races take place in the village of Stanton upon Hine Heath near Shawbury. The route is a mixture of woodland, fields, farm track and quiet country lanes and includes stiles to climb over which are part of the fun. Trail or road shoes? – the choice depends upon the weather.
There is a finisher’s medal, bottle of water and chocolate for every runner.
If you are still thinking about whether to enter, this might be the decider: “The course is looking in great shape and ready to welcome you all on the 21st May. Can’t wait to see you there.”
