No excuses – six weekends left to nail a PB before Christmas
From 5K (with or without a Santa suit) to half marathon The Race Organiser has it all covered
With the frights of Halloween and the scares of Bonfire Night still ringing in our ears, The Race Organiser has just added to our fears by reminding us there are only six weekends to go before Christmas! We had to check the calendar to be sure but with Christmas Day on a Saturday this year it's true – there are only six free weekends left to nail that PB before Christmas 2021!
Fortunately for us, The Race Organiser has plenty of choice with 11 events planned before we bid 2021 a fond farewell and usher in a new and hopefully better year. Races are available to enter now from 5K to half marathon at popular venues that include Dorney Lake, Windsor; Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park; Draycote Water, Rugby; Grand Union Canal, Uxbridge; Regent's Park, London and Weybridge in Surrey (see image above).
Is there a Santa Run, we hear you ask? Yes, of course. 'Yule' get the chance to don the red suit and go 'Dashing through the Stow' from Waltham Forest Town Hall on Saturday 11 December. The route is 5K and places (and Santa suits) are strictly limited as organisers don't want anyone to feel 'Claus-trophobic' at the start! Enter now for just £15 which includes your very own Santa suit!
The Race Organiser was busy last weekend with 317 finishers at the Dorney Lake 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. James Share (Guildford & Godalming, 1:10:57) and GB international Tracy Barlow (Thames Valley Harriers, 1:23:18) led the way in the longest race. The winners of the 10K were Max Davis (32:14) and record-breaking ultra runner Carla Molinaro (Clapham Chasers, 36:46 PB) – who was second overall. Meanwhile, the 5K was headed by Matthew Cottis (16:14) and under-15 talent Grace Colley (21:41).
