Stirling Half Marathon has reached 50% of its capacity just two weeks after entries opened, and runners have signed up in their thousands with one of the most anticipated details still to come.
The inaugural race takes place on Sunday 16 May 2027, delivered by Up and Running Events in partnership with London Marathon Events.
When entries opened earlier this month, runners knew they were signing up for a closed-road Half Marathon starting and finishing at King's Park. What they did not yet know was precisely where those 13.1 miles would take them.
That remains the case, with the full route and the Stirling landmarks it will feature still to be revealed.
Rather than slowing early demand, the anticipation appears to have added another dimension to the launch. Organisers have now confirmed that 50% of available places were taken within the first fortnight, putting thousands of runners on the start list more than seven months before race day.
There is plenty of potential for the eventual course. Stirling offers a combination of historic streets, famous landmarks and dramatic views towards the surrounding hills, while the involvement of London Marathon Events alongside the local experience of Up and Running Events has already given the new race a substantial profile.
