Speyside Series Gets The Blend Just Right
Speyside series has much to offer runners in the months ahead...
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Scotland’s renowned whisky country, the Speyside Series is a must-do for runners seeking both a physical and cultural adventure. Home to some of the world’s most famous distilleries. Spanning from May to October, the series includes the Archiestown 5K, the Dufftown 5 Mile/5 Hill race and the Speyside Windfarm 12 Mile run.
Kicking off the series is the 12th Archiestown 5K on 3 May. This event offers runners a chance to experience the charm of Archiestown while tackling a swift 5K course. Following in July, the Dufftown 5 Mile/5 Hill race is scheduled for 9 July. This unique event challenges participants with a course that encompasses five distinct hills, providing a rigorous test of endurance amidst the scenic landscapes surrounding Dufftown.
Concluding the series is the Speyside Windfarm Challenge Half Marathon on 31 August. Runners will navigate a 12-mile route that weaves through the impressive windfarm installations, offering panoramic views of the Moray countryside.
For those seeking an additional challenge, the Skedaddle Speyside Trail 10K is set for 12 October. This trail run provides participants with an opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the Speyside trails during the vibrant autumn months.
Completing all events in the series is a fantastic achievement, as participants will have traversed various distances and terrains, including road, cross-country and hill courses. Runners who finish all events will receive a certificate of completion and trophies will be awarded to the fastest overall male and female participants.
A series entry fee of £40 offers a 25% saving compared to registering for each event individually. The funds are distributed among the four events, supporting local communities and organisations. If you'd like to know more, visit the Speyside Series entry page.
