The Skedaddle Speyside 10K is organised by Skedaddle North and follows a point to point trail route from Archiestown to Cardhu Distillery in Moray. The race also forms part of the Speyside Series, alongside the Archiestown 5K, Dufftown 5 Mile and Speyside Windfarm Challenge Trail Half Marathon, with results from each event contributing towards the overall series.
Starting in Archiestown Village Square, runners climb gradually into Elchies Woods on wide forest tracks before tackling increasingly undulating terrain. Views open towards Little Conval, Meikle Conval and Ben Rinnes before the route becomes narrower and muddier. A fast descent along Mannoch Road leads towards Cardhu Reservoir, with wider views across Speyside towards the Cairngorms, before runners finish at Cardhu Distillery.
The course is well marked and supported by volunteer marshals, a sweeper runner and first aid, with water available around halfway and at the finish. A shuttle bus connects the start and finish areas, making the point to point format straightforward for runners. Every finisher receives a memento, while adult participants can enjoy an optional complimentary dram at Cardhu Distillery.
Combining forest trails, Speyside scenery and a distinctive distillery finish, the Skedaddle Speyside 10K offers a memorable Scottish trail running experience.
