If all the sun has you dreaming of foreign travel then you'll be interested in this fantastic competition where somebody will win a £1000 holiday voucher for a UK or worldwide destination. Just imagine where that could take you! To be in with a chance of winning all you have to do is enter one of the SPAR Series races which includes events in the north west of the country.

But what are these races? The SPAR Series includes the Running Bee Foundation's Ron Hill Accrington 10K, Tour of Tameside and City of Preston 10K. The Accrington race has already passed, but there are still plenty of events to consider.

Delivered by North-west health and wellbeing charity, The Running Bee Foundation, The Tour of Tameside is a four day festival of running that offers a variety of routes and terrains to challenge participants both physically and mentally. The races take in some of the most picturesque sights across Tameside with routes through Oldham, Stalybridge, Glossop and Hyde.

Races in the Tour include The X-Trail 10K (15 June) which traverses two superb country parks and a variety of running terrain, it has been designed to take in the breath-taking local landscape and give runners an exhilarating challenge!

Hell On The Fell is up next on 16 June followed by the Hero Half Marathon (17 June) which takes the field of runners along the Longdendale Trail, a disused railway line which is ideal for achieving a PB time.

The final stage is the Dr Ron Hyde 7 (18 June) which happens to be Father's Day. You can opt for a blank race number to run for your dad, or in his memory! This race is the Tour's finale and starts and finishes outside the historic Hyde Town Hall on Market Street, with a 7-mile running route through Hyde Town Center and the surrounding area.

If you're looking for a race a little further on in the calendar - the SPAR City of Preston 10K which is set for 24 September is a great option, runners can expect a route with great parkland stretches and memorable countryside scenery around the River Ribble before a big city centre finish.

Not only do we bring you news of the competition, we also have a discount code for all these events, meaning you can save while you get yourself in the running for that holiday voucher! Use code HOLIDAY when signing up to qualify for £10 off the full Tour of Tameside and £5 off the individual races.

Please note: Runners who have already taken part in the Ron Hill Accrington 10K and signed up to the Tour of Tameside (full tour or individual races) and/or SPAR City of Preston 10K will be automatically entered into the prize draw. The winner will be drawn at random on 30 September 2023.
