New Event For Scotland's Runners
Runners in Scotland are in for a treat this November with the launch of the Scottish Running Expo...
A major new event for the sport is set to arrive this autumn as the Scottish Running Expo makes its debut at Glasgow's SEC on 14 and 15 November.
Created by Up and Running Events, the two day gathering is being positioned as Scotland’s first national expo dedicated entirely to running. Organisers say the event will bring together runners, brands, clubs and industry partners from across Scotland and the wider UK, creating a new focal point in the country’s running calendar.
Across the weekend visitors can expect a programme of talks, live sessions and panel discussions exploring training, injury prevention, performance and the business of running. The event will also feature brand activations, product trials, run club meet ups and community shakeout runs along the River Clyde, alongside exhibition stands showcasing events and organisations from across the sport.
Headline appearances are set to include endurance runner and content creator Jonny Davies, Scottish distance runner Natasha Phillips and Paralympic champion Richard Whitehead. Organisers say the speaker line up will reflect the breadth of modern running culture, from elite competition to grassroots community participation.
A spokesperson said: "Scotland has long maintained a strong year-round running scene, yet until now has not hosted a large scale national running expo. We hope to attract runners of all levels, from those preparing for their first 5K race to experienced marathoners seeking new inspiration, equipment and connections within the sport."
