Guess Your Time This Easter
This charity event offers a unique and somewhat healthier way to spend Easter Sunday...
Come together this Easter in support of Marie Curie at the charity's Kirkcaldy Easter Running Event which will take place on 5 April at Ravenscraig Park, offering family-friendly races in scenic surroundings while raising funds for the charity’s vital work.
Proceedings begin with a two mile prediction run open to participants aged eight and over. Instead of racing against the clock, runners will attempt to finish as close as possible to a time they predict in advance. Organisers told us: "Your watches and phones are not permitted, our event places the emphasis on pacing rather than speed and prizes will be awarded to the three participants whose finish times most closely match their predictions!"
A children’s one mile fun run follows for which entry is free, with donations welcomed at bib collection. Both races will start near Kirkcaldy & District Men’s Shed and follow an anticlockwise route around the park. Every participant will receive an Easter themed goodie bag, with additional spot prizes planned on the day.
The event is being delivered in partnership with Fife Athletics Club and is sponsored by SNIPZ Barbershop Kirkcaldy, led by local supporter Mathew Lafferty. Organisers say the day will be the perfect way for runners and their families to celebrate Easter Sunday while supporting end of life care services across the UK.
