You Won't Be Board In Bournemouth!
Running as it should be returns to Bournemouth...
There may be six months until running as it should be returns to the stunning Dorset coastal resort of Bournemouth, but now is the best time to secure your number for one (or more) of the six races that comprise the Run Bournemouth Weekend on 11-12 October 2025.
Perhaps you are inspired by the London Marathon – as a participant, or awestruck spectator – and want to join thousands of runners who have already discovered this dynamic Dorset event, famed for the unique experience of running on the boards of both Boscombe Pier and Bournemouth Pier.
The Bournemouth Half Marathon on Sunday 12 October provides the perfect opportunity to escape from it all. This scenic 13.1-mile race offers panoramic views of the stunning South Coast. Breathe in the fresh sea air, take in the award-winning beaches, and embrace the incredible atmosphere of a weekend festival of running where you can even go for a dip in the sea and enjoy an ice cream afterwards!
The Run Bournemouth programme starts with the Junior 2K for runners aged 9-12 years at 2:00pm on Saturday, followed by a Junior 1.5K for those aged 6-8 years at 2:45pm, and the Kid's Kilometre at 3:30pm for 3-6 year olds (who must be accompanied by an adult).
The famous and exciting Supernova 5K starts as dusk arrives at 7:00pm on Saturday. Hundreds of fluo-clad competitors make a colourful spectacle as darkness falls and the runners dash onto Bournemouth Pier.
Sunday's action commences with the Supersonic 10K at 9:00am on a flat, fast course perfect for PB-hunters. The route includes a run on both Boscombe Pier and Bournemouth Pier. You won't be 'board' on this course!
Bournemouth Half Marathon brings the programme to a fitting finale at 11:00am – the start timed so it is possible to run this race after finishing the Supersonic 10K! Whether you are chasing a PB or soaking up the seaside atmosphere, get set to experience sun, sea and running as it should be!
