Still buzzing from the atmosphere of the Pride in London parade earlier in July, we hear the Pride Run 10K returns to London's Victoria Park for its 20th-anniversary race on Saturday 16 September.

Pride Run 10k is a not-for-profit run. It is organised every year by a group of volunteers from London Frontrunners, an inclusive running club for lesbians, gay and bisexual men and women, transgender and gay-friendly people.

London Frontrunners was formed in 1995 as part of International Front Runners, a network of LGBT running clubs from all over the world. They have over 500 members, ranging from recreational joggers to competitive road and cross-country athletes and everyone in between. Previous Pride Run 10K races have drawn 600 runners to Victoria Park – Britain's oldest public park and the largest park in Tower Hamlets – and raised funds for local charities. This year's partner charity is the Micro Rainbow International Foundation.

Last year's Pride Run 10K winners were Henry Hart (Belgrave Harriers, 31:39) and Lara Bromilow (Marshall Milton Keynes AC, 39:19). A tidy 40 runners broke 40 minutes; 232 were inside 50 minutes, and more than 450 beat the hour. The final finisher was welcomed home at 1:48:18.

As well as the attractive three-lap course and the fully inclusive and supportive vibe, Pride Run 10K is renowned for its after-party at the People's Park Tavern, where the post-run deal for a drink, burger, and fries proved to be just the ticket last year!
