Touring North Clydeside
This August series of events are all ideal for those looking to achieve fast times...
Stay close to home this summer and take a Tour Of North Clydeside in August! Don't worry we've not gone all 'Judith Chalmers', this isn't a mini-break recommendation, it is of course a series of races in the west of Scotland.
This 'thrilling series' spans five days and consists of three races, each with its own unique distance and route. Together they total 15 miles, all on the canal, allowing the opportunity for fast times. Each race is a different distance from 5K to 10K, on either the canal towpath, the cycle path in Dumbarton or on quiet roads near Clydebank Leisure Centre.
One of the highlights of this event is the flat nature of the routes, presenting runners with the opportunity to achieve impressive times. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete aiming for a personal best or a recreational runner looking to challenge yourself, the Tour of North Clydeside offers a fantastic platform to showcase your skills.
First up this year is the Bowline Bounce in Dalmuir, this 10K race will take place on 14 August. Starting and finishing across from the Drop Lock in Dalmuir this is an out and back race along the canal towpath.
On 16 August it is the turn of the Clydebank Canter which is a 5K that starts and finishes near the Clydebank Leisure Centre. Up last is the Dumbarton Dash on 18 August. This is an 8K that starts and finishes in the wee park across from Dumbarton Acadamy.
While the races are open events, meaning not all runners need to participate in the entire series, those who complete all three races will be eligible for series prizes. So, lace up your running shoes, mark your calendars, and get ready to embark on an unforgettable athletic journey at the Tour of North Clydeside.
