This Race Has Attitude & Altitude
Half marathons don't get more exhilarating than this one...
If it's a tough half marathon you're looking for, the Path of Condie Half is a fantastic option. Organised by Kinross Road Runners, the event will take place on 28 October in and around Milnathort.
Organisers tell us: "This is a tough half marathon with attitude and altitude! It is one of the most rewarding distance runs in the area with frequently changing scenery and gradient. This is definitely a race for the runner that likes to push and challenge themselves and not recommended for a first half marathon or a fun run."
Organisers expect all runners who choose to enter to complete the course in under three hours with no exceptions, so this really is a race for those who have some experience with the distance - not necessarily a great choice for first timers over the 13.1 mile distance.
Despite its tough reputation, the race is a sell out, perhaps because it is also regarded as one of the most exhilarating runs around Kinross, Milnathort and Loch Leven. The frequently changing scenery and gradient makes it a thrilling, challenging and rewarding event. Speaking soon after entries opened, organisers commented on Facebook: "50% of Path of Condie Half Marathon entries filled already! Get your entry in now before it’s too late!"
The male course record was broken in 2022 by Rory Scott in 1:17:48 while the female record was set back in 2018 by Sheena Logan in 1:26:26.
