Morley's Magic Race
Get ready to take on the mighty Morley 10K...
The third edition of the Morley 10K will return to the West Yorkshire town on 6 October, the volunteer led not-for-profit event is based around raising as much money as possible for local charities and good causes, this year Archie's Caravan & 3D Toy Shop.
The undulating, closed-road race will see runners pass through the historic streets of Morley with two out and back sections and (possibly uniquely) a three-way crossover section at the legendary 'Morley Bottoms'. Organisers say: "There are a few 'slopes' and thankfully we have massive local support to cheer you along!"
As an inclusive race, organisers also accept entries from wheelchair racers and organisers stress that: "Whether you are a serious racer, fancy dress fun runner, first timer or veteran - we have the race for you!"
The race has water stations, a virtual goody bag, 'sweets n treats' and eco friendly medal for all finishers. There will be awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in several categories and we've been told that this year organisers are looking at improving the post-race offerings with treats and discounted food options.
If you are going for a Personal Best or have a time or goal in mind then this is catered for thanks to The Northern Pacing Volunteers who will provide pacers from 40 minutes through to 1 hour 15 minutes to help runners achieve this.
