Still Time To Chase The Train

Find out who has more steam at North Norfolk Beach Runners' Chase The Train event...

There are still a few spots available for the popular Chase the Train event - a scenic and flat 8.9 mile trail run following the Bure Valley Railway path between Aylsham and Wroxham in Norfolk.

Organised by the North Norfolk Beach Runners, the 2024 staging will take place on 3 November and usually sells out in hours, so get in on the action and book your space now! It is also a great race for spectators to watch those taking part along the route and intermediate stations.

The event starts from Aylsham Bure Valley Station and follows the train line to Wroxham Station through pretty countryside. It can be a challenging race as the course, although flat, does have a few hazards to overcome, it is narrow in places, a rough terrain and it’s open to the public.

Organisers say: "This race has a linear route (A to B), the train you will be chasing will depart Aylsham at 10.20, you are invited to use this train to transport your race day bag to Wroxham.

"The Bure Valley Railway kindly allow us the run of their stations for much of the day and will be putting on a special train to get everyone back to Aylsham at 12:15. Please note that this train will have a maximum of 140 seats with no spaces."

All profits from the race go to About With Friends, supporting people with learning disabilities. There are toilets available at the start and finish and an excellent cafe at Aylsham serving a wide selection of hot and cold snacks and drinks.
