Monklands Half

New 10K In Lanarkshire

Popular half marathon returns In April with brand new 10K addition...

The much-loved Monklands Half Marathon is back, and this year it’s bigger than ever with the addition of a brand-new 10K race. Taking place on 20 April both events will start and finish at St Ambrose High School in Coatbridge, taking runners on a scenic and varied route through Drumpellier Park and along the Monklands Canal.

The half marathon in fact features a fresh new course for 2025, combining a long opening loop and a shorter second lap before a final stretch past the loch and back to the school. Meanwhile, the inaugural Monklands 10K offers a fast, scenic challenge, incorporating some of the half marathon’s key highlights.

With an overwhelming response so far, only a limited number of spaces remain, organisers say: "After an amazing response over the last few weeks, we only have a very limited amount of spaces available for the events - so book your space soon!"

As always, these events wouldn’t be possible without the support of volunteers. Race marshals are needed to assist on the day, helping to guide runners and ensure a safe, well-supported race and all volunteers will receive a snack pack goody bag and a free entry to a future event as a thank you.

Whether you’re racing, cheering from the sidelines, or lending a helping hand, Monklands 2025 promises to be a fantastic day of running and community spirit.
