The start at Limassol Marathon

The Mission to Seafarers Sets Sail With Limassol Marathon

There's less than seven weeks to go until one of the Eastern Mediterranean's top races, OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO. And organisers have confirmed The Mission to Seafarers as an official charity partner for the 2018 event.

There is a great choice of races over the course of this Cyprus marathon weekend (17/18 March) - the 26.2 mile feature event, Limassol Half Marathon, the Petrolina 10K Energy Race, the 5K City Race and the PrimeTel 5K Corporate Race. The range of race distances makes the OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO suitable for runners of all ages and abilities.

The PrimeTel 5K Corporate Race is particularly suited to businesses and employees looking for an excellent team-building and fitness-boosting opportunity. It is also an ideal platform for charity fundraising, and it is hoped that companies entering this event will adopt The Mission to Seafarers as their team charity.

An extra incentive to #RunLimassol for The Mission to Seafarers is a special race package that has been created exclusively for the charity. Designed to offer a great-value and hassle-free experience, the bespoke package for The Mission to Seafarers runners includes: three nights’ accommodation on a half-board basis at the 4-star Atlantica Miramare hotel; admission to the race of choice; admission to the pasta party; official race T-shirt; return airport transfers; transportation to the start line and race pack delivery to the hotel. The package price is €450 for runners and €400 for non-runners.

The special package gives runners the opportunity to take part in one of Europe’s most exciting sporting events while raising money for a worthy cause and enjoying a superb weekend away. The OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO will be celebrating its 12th anniversary in 2018 and is looking forward to welcoming athletes from near and far wanting to enjoy the flat and fast course, friendly atmosphere, warm spring weather and stunning natural scenery. It is a great spring race for runners of all abilities, from first time marathon runners through to professional athletes looking to achieve a PB.

The OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO is an excellent event for charity fundraising, and The Mission to Seafarers joins Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Society as official charity partners for 2018.
