Major Disruption To Weekend Racing

Some of the worst weather seen in many years has brought Scotland to a standstill this week and unsurprisingly the disruption has already taken its toll on the weekend’s racing.

The Rat Race Mighty Deerstalker, Edinburgh Resolution Run, Cambuslang Harriers’ Down by the River and the Cupar 5 have all been postponed, while the Smokies 10 Mile Road Race has been rescheduled for Sunday 13 May.

A decision on the Meadows Marathon is due to be made at lunchtime today (Friday) while organisers are keeping a close eye on conditions ahead of the Lasswade 10 Mile and Nairn 10K, both of which are due to take place on Sunday 4 March.

Across the country parkrun events are also falling foul of the weather, with a host of runs already cancelled including Edinburgh, Falkirk, Kirkcaldy and Montrose.

The parkrun UK website has a list of all the latest cancellations, while the runABC Facebook and Twitter pages will keep runners posted of all the latest cancellations.
