Loughborough Santa Run

Dashing Through Loughborough

Festive cheer will be spread in Loughborough this December...

Loughborough is set to be filled with Santas on Sunday 1 December as they help spread some Christmas cheer at this year's Loughborough Santa Run. This event is perfect for the whole family and whether you want to hop, skip, dance or run the route 'yule' be sure to have lots of fantastic festive fun.

There are 5K or 2.5K routes on offer, and organisers say there is no need to choose your distance beforehand you can let the elves guide you on the day! Starting in the Market Place, those taking part will hop their way through Queen’s Park down to the University before making their way along Epinal Way and finishing back in the Market Place.

Everyone who signs up to take part will receive a Santa t-shirt before they start the run and a finishers medal at the end. Organisers also told us: "To get all the family involved, the event is also open to your ‘Santa Paws’, so bring your pooches along too. There’s also the opportunity to purchase a festive dog bandana when booking – because we wouldn’t want dogs to feel left out!"

The race starts at 11am which leaves plenty of time to head for some Christmas shopping afterwards and on the day, runners will be joined by the Loughborough Panto Dame, Bouncing Becky, and a festive brass band.

Last word with organisers on why you should take part: "All the money raised from registration fees will ensure Rainbows can organise the best Santa Run Loughborough has ever seen and fundraising couldn’t be easier. As a charity, Rainbows is almost entirely dependent on people like you to provide the funds that keep our services going and every penny you raise will help us to Brighten Short Lives."
