Kinloss to Lossiemouth Half Marathon

North East Classic Returns

North East half makes comeback after five year break...

The Kinloss to Lossie Half Marathon is set to make a long-awaited comeback on 15 February 2026, marking the return of one of the North East’s most popular early-season races. Now organised by Chilled Running, the event was previously a staple for Moray Road Runners and has traditionally served as an ideal pacing or training run for athletes preparing for spring marathons.

After five years away, the race once again offers runners the classic point-to-point route from Kinloss to Lossiemouth. Participants will start at Kinloss Barracks before heading out toward the coast and following the scenic shoreline into Lossiemouth. The finish sits just outside the town at the medical centre, only a short stroll from the community centre where runners can warm up with refreshments.

The course is known for being fast and flat, making it a favourite for those chasing early-year personal bests. Chip timing will be in place, and finishers will be welcomed with coffee, water, cakes and a lively prizegiving inside the hall.

A bespoke 2026 medal is also on offer, but organisers have issued an important warning. Medal numbers must be finalised shortly after Christmas, meaning only early entrants will be guaranteed one. Once the order deadline passes, remaining entries will be non-medal places to avoid waste.

With excitement building and the race finally returning to the calendar, runners across the region are being encouraged to sign up quickly and secure their spot in one of the North East’s most cherished half marathons.
