Kilomathon Runners

Go Metric This April

Dare to be different at Edinburgh's Kilomathon races...

Taking place this spring, Kilomathon offers something a little different to regular running events and, with routes to suit everyone, it could be a fantastic day out for all the family.

Set to hit the capital on Sunday 9 April, Kilomathon takes place on Edinburgh’s beautiful cycle path network. Runners will pass the historic Royal Yacht Britannia, picturesque Victoria Park and enjoy the tranquil cycle paths before a being rewarded with a fantastic finish in front of the West Stand at BT Murrayfield Stadium, the home of Scottish rugby.

There are two distances for adult runners to choose from with the unique distances of 13.1K or 6.5K both on offer. Organisers suggest that the longer distance is perfect for runners that are training for a full or half marathon later in the year or for those looking to step-up from a 10K. Similarly, the 6.5K offers runners an ideal step-up distance from a 5K or can be used as an excellent stepping stone for those wanting to do a 10K in the future.

Want to get the kids involved too? Well, the 2.62K junior race is a fun challenge for kids and takes place inside BT Murrayfield Stadium. What a fantastic location for the juniors to get their running fix!

Speaking about the event and all it has to offer, organisers said: "Runners will experience the lively atmosphere of Scotland's capital as they run through the heart of the city and with a grandstand stadium finish, this is an event not to be missed."

You can find out more about the event at the Kilomathon website.
