Run With Rugby Legends
Sign up and run shoulder-to-shoulder with some of Scotland’s sporting greats...
Scottish running meets sporting legends this summer at the My Name’5 Doddie 5K and 10K, returning to Edinburgh on 8 June. This event offers a chance for those who were a part of Edinburgh Marathon to stretch their legs and chase a new personal best while raising vital funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
Organised by Blast Running, the event invites runners of all levels to lace up and join a host of familiar faces from the world of Scottish rugby (including former Scotland international Scott Hastings) for a memorable day of community, fundraising and flat-out fun. Organisers say: "Whether you’re recovering from a spring marathon or setting yourself a summer goal, the event promises an uplifting and supportive atmosphere for all."
There’s also an opportunity for young runners to get involved in the kids’ 950m race. The distance marks two special milestones: 900 metres in honour of Edinburgh’s 900th birthday year and a final 50-metre sprint to celebrate Cramond Primary School turning 50. Funds raised from the children’s event will go towards the school’s playground refurbishment and a home baking stall run by the school will be on hand to fuel family supporters.
All finishers, both adults and juniors, will be rewarded with a medal at the line, making it a great day out for both seasoned runners and first-timers alike.
With fundraising, fitness and a fun vibe at its heart, this is an event that celebrates local spirit and helps to support a brilliant cause.
