A Route With A View
Stunning views over Edinburgh on offer at this November trail event...
We bring news of a lung-busting winter challenge that treats runners to a hilly, scenic and mixed terrain course; Scurry Events' Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill Trail Races will return to Edinburgh on 24 November and entries are now open.
The Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill Local Nature Reserve is a unique area of natural beauty in Edinburgh and as organisers say, there is 'no better place for a scenic winter trail run'. The event provides runners with a unique opportunity to start running from the 1775 Hermitage of Braid house and enjoy a route through an area of natural beauty in Edinburgh.
There are three distances on offer - 10K, 5K and the 1.2K Festive Fun Run for which participants receive an elf hat to run in and take home. Festive fancy dress is encouraged for this one.
Both the 10K and 5K races involve a one lap mixed-terrain route starting and finishing at the Hermitage of Braid house and boasting unique views across Edinburgh and the Forth.
The 1.2km Festive Fun Run also starts at the house and will see patricipants running up to the bridge at the lodge house and back again.
All proceeds from the fun run will act as a charitable donation towards Friends of the Hermitage and Braid and Morningside Primary School. There will be a post race drink and snack as well as a race memento for all.
