Grimsby 10K

This Race Ain't Grim, it's Great!

This 10K is a great reason to visit the Lincolnshire coastline...

Fish and chips is a great way to reward yourself for a job well done on race day and if you happen to be racing in the UK's seafood capital then you can be sure your cod and chips will be top class! What's even better is that the racing will be top class too - as runners have come to expect great things from the Grimsby 10K which will take place on 4 June this year.

The course is flat and fast with first class camaraderie on display throughout the fantastic route. Organisers, Tape2Tape Events say: "After the Great Grimsby Town Hall start, runners will head out on some main roads through the town and pass through some great communities who support you all the way.

"There is then a great stretch (we think this bit is ever so slightly downhill) along Peaks Parkway where runners will come across the Equans Mad Mile section. In this section, if they choose, those taking part can try to run a fast time in this mile and there will be prizes! If not then just enjoy the route."

There will be a spectacular finishline event at the picturesque Victorian People's Park in the heart of the town, where participants will be welcomed back with music, entertainment and a real carnival atmosphere.

If you're looking for a personal best time then the event's fab team of pacers will show you the way to the finish line. They will be running at the following finish times: 40 mins, 45, 50, 55, 1 hour, 65, 70 and 75 mins.

In 2023 there were well over 2000 runners taking part and the race was won by Tom Straw of Lincoln Wellington AC who completed the distance in 30:39 while first female home was East Hull Harrier Tamsin Boynton who clocked 36:03.

There's plenty of excitement amongst those who've already signed up, Nikki Laver told her story on Facebook: "I'm so excited that I've entered again this year! I ran the first three and then had a freaky accident and ended up dislocating my ankle. I missed running so much that in January, five years later, I went back to basics and put my running shoes back on! That's me, hooked on running again and this will be my first race back. I'm originally from Grimsby but now live in Windsor but I'm coming back home to run it and I can't wait...it's the best race ever!"
