Fourteen Years Of Moustaches On Glasgow Green
Glasgow MoRun returns on 29 November, 14 years after the Movember running series first brought its moustaches to Scotland...
This relates to: Glasgow MoRun
Glasgow was the city that introduced Scotland to MoRunning back in 2012. Fourteen years later, the moustaches are still going strong on Glasgow Green.
The Glasgow MoRun returns on Sunday 29 November with a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and 1.5K Mini MoRun, bringing runners of all ages together for a morning that takes its running seriously without taking itself too seriously.
The event has become an established part of Glasgow's November running calendar. Official results stretch back to 2012, when MoRunning first ventured north of the border, with Edinburgh, Perth and Aberdeen subsequently joining the Scottish programme.
For 2026, the action remains on Glasgow Green, although park restrictions have prompted an alteration to the course. The organiser describes the revised route as flat and mainly on paths, with the 5K completing one lap and the 10K two. Half marathon runners begin with an additional 1.1K loop before completing four full laps.
The Half Marathon starts at 9:30am, followed by the 5K and 10K at 10:00am. Younger runners get their turn in the Mini MoRun at 11:45am.
Fancy dress remains central to the fun, with prizes for the best costumes and moustaches alongside awards for the fastest runners. Real moustaches are welcome, but painted versions are perfectly acceptable too.
Behind the entertainment is MoRunning's longstanding support for Movember and men's health, raising awareness of prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
Entries are open, with places limited and the advertised closing date set for 21 November.
Fourteen years after Glasgow helped launch MoRunning in Scotland, the message remains much the same: grow a Mo, paint one on or simply turn up and run.
