Bury Is Back
Get set for the 2022 Bury Running Festival...
The much-loved Bury 10K will be back in Bury on Sunday 18 September as part of an expanded Bury Running Festival to include a new event, the Bury 10 Mile and the already popular Bury Fun Run. Delivered as a partnership between Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All and Bury Council, the bigger and better Bury Running Festival builds on the success of the popular 10K event which first began in 2016.
Councillor Debbie Quinn said: “We’re so excited for the return of our annual running event following a two year pause due to coronavirus.
“The Bury Running Festival now offers something for everyone – families, newcomers, and seasoned runners. So, let’s make 2022 our biggest and best event yet! Let’s get together and turn out in force for what promises to be a rewarding and enjoyable event for all.
“Entry is now open for each event so whatever your reason for taking part, it’s time to get those trainers on and start working towards your goal.”
Each event in the Bury Running Festival will start and finish at The Rock, as in previous years with the 10K a great challenge for those starting out on their running journey or for seasoned runners looking to improve on their personal best. The all new 10 Mile event will offer more experienced runners a more demanding contest and the chance to challenge themselves further.
All participants in every event get the opportunity to take in the sights of Bury, experience a fantastic atmosphere, and enjoy the warm welcome from cheering spectators. Erin Jones of Run For All added: “We’re delighted to be able to launch the first in-person Bury Running Festival this year. While we did hold a virtual festival in 2021, we are so excited to be able to be get everyone back together again in 2022.
“Whether you’re looking for a fun activity for the family, a way to raise money for charity or a new personal challenge, the 2022 Bury Running Festival will offer something for all abilities.”
