After years of memorable races and significant fundraising for local clubs and charities, organisers have confirmed that 2026 will be the final edition of the Huddersfield Road Series. Those who complete all three races in the farewell series will receive a special commemorative prize.

The series opens with The Windmill 6 on 15 March 2026, this undulating six mile road race takes runners on an anti clockwise loop around the windmills of Spicer Hill, offering wide reaching views across Huddersfield, Wakefield and Penistone.

Race two is the Colne Valley 10K Challenge on 17 May 2026. Starting and finishing at Leymoor Cricket Club, the route climbs through Longwood and Outlane Golf Course and rewards runners with striking views over Huddersfield as they take on the challenging terrain.

The Shepley 10K brings the series to a close on 20 September 2026. Hosted by Shepley Cricket Club, the route follows a hilly anti clockwise loop on scenic country lanes, beginning and ending with fast sections and featuring a tough middle climb. A family day and children’s fun run will follow the main event.

Organisers say: "After many brilliant years, hundreds of runners, countless memories and thousands raised for our local clubs and charities… 2026 will be the final ever Huddersfield Road Series. So let’s make it one to remember! And as a thank you to everyone who has supported, volunteered, sponsored and run with us over the years… I will be feeding every runner and volunteer at each event! Buffet style, plenty for all please come hungry!"
