Dorney Lake Half Marathon

Time to tackle that half marathon PB

With only 27 feet of ascent, is this Britain's flattest 13.1 miler?

Are you looking to end 2021 with a half marathon PB? Then look no further! Dorney Lake Half Marathon is a joint promotion by The Race Organiser and Purple Patch Running and there are two opportunities left to smash that personal best time this year.

Choose either Sunday 7th November or Sunday 12th December – or run both events – for a flat, lightning-fast race alongside Eton Dorney Lake on smooth-surfaced tarmac guaranteed to be completely traffic-free. One previous competitor, Nik Darlington (pictured) registered just 27 feet of climbing in 13.1 miles! You can read his personal race blog here

Eton Dorney was made famous as the iconic setting for 30 rowing and canoeing events in the London 2012 Olympics, where Team GB added a dozen medals to their tally. Now you can soak up the atmosphere and be inspired by momentous sporting achievements that are still a prominent memory.

Dorney Lake is nestled amongst 450 acres of glorious parkland, which includes an Arboretum and Nature Conservation area, whilst being just a few miles from Windsor and a short drive from Heathrow airport and London.

Entries will not be available on the day and are limited, so sign up now to secure your place on the start line. The course comprises 5K loops and there are supporting 5K and 10K races on both dates if the half marathon distance is a step too far at present.

The latest event on 22nd May saw just under 350 run the half marathon in a little over three hours and the winners were Ben Kruze (Stratford upon Avon AC, 1:11:06) and Verity Hopkins (Tonbridge AC, 1:19:37). Both winners ran their current half marathon PBs on that occasion and Hopkins went on to win her debut marathon at Brighton last month.

If you would like to join Ben and Verity – and hundreds of others – in chasing your PB in spectacular and inspirational surroundings you know what to do. It's a cinch to enter via The Race Organiser or Purple Patch Running.
