Dechmont Law Trail Race

Milestone Event At Dechmont Law

Secure your place and be part of a true Scottish trail running classic this summer...

Lothian Running Club is gearing up for a bigger and better Dechmont Trail Race Festival as it celebrates its 25th anniversary on 15 June. Following last year’s sell-out success, this year’s event promises a fantastic morning of trail running, welcoming runners of all abilities to the scenic Dechmont Law Park in Livingston.

The race routes take runners through the woodland trails of Dechmont Law, featuring firm paths, undulating terrain and even a passing glimpse of the mysterious Alien Stone.

There's a 10K, 6.5K and a 2.5K junior run to choose from. The junior race follows a loop around the paths around Dechmont Law, the 6.5K race goes past the Alien Stone to the North Wood before returning to Dechmont Law and the 10K is a combination of the 2.5K and 6K loops plus a little bit extra in between!

For those intrigued by other worldly occurences, Dechmont Law is famous for the Robert Taylor Incident, Scotland’s most well-known UFO sighting from 1979. While we can’t promise a flying dome, you never know—you just might spot something out of this world!

The event also pays tribute to Martin Hyman, a founding member of the club, whose legendary courses have hosted top-class trail and mountain running events across Scotland. All finishers will receive a special 25th anniversary medal plus the chance to indulge in Lothian Running Club’s famous home baking buffet!
