Rochdale Half Marathon

Deadline nears at Rochdale

The last day of the month marks the final point for early bird entry at the BMW Rochdale Half Marathon and 10K. Until midnight on Sunday 31 March 2019, entry to the half marathon has been reduced by £7, and there’s £4 off the 10K – both substantial discounts for an event that is expected to attract a field of 5000 runners.

Scheduled for Sunday 6 October, both the half and 10k offer a prime start and finish point by the grade one listed Rochdale Town Hall. The routes have also been designed to incorporatesome of the North West’s most picturesque countryside scenes like Hollingworth Lake.

Councillor Janet Emsley, cabinet member for neighbourhoods, community and culture, said early demand for places has been high: “Our early bird prices end this month so we’re reminding everyone to enter now, book their place and save money on one of the borough’s most exciting sporting events."

Janet continued: “Our discounts should encourage people to secure their places. We received lots of superb feedback about last year’s event and we’ve already sold over 250 places for 2019 so demand is strong."

The event is organised by Middleton Harriers, Rochdale Harriers and Rochdale Triathlon Club with support from Rochdale Borough Council. Further information on the race, including registration, is available here.
