Chichester 10K start

Number Swap At Goodwood

It's another classic encounter at the Chichester 10K...

The Chichester 10K by Runbase Events traditionally kicks off the racing programme in the south, with a huge entry and impressively fast times on the historic Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit and surrounding roads.

The 34th event, on Sunday 1st February 2026, was another classic encounter with 1,369 finishers under 90 minutes; 1,140 inside an hour; over 800 beating 50 minutes, and 365 going under 40 minutes!

The race included the British Masters 10K Championships, so there were some rapid age-group winners on the revised course, which now includes more smooth tarmac on the motor circuit than before. There is no more than 25m of elevation on the new route. The rain before the race eased, and the conditions were near perfect for February.

Race Director Gavin Stephens allocated bib number one to John Beattie (Leeds City AC) and number two to Charlie Sandison (Hercules Wimbledon AC). The pre-race favourites locked horns from the start and were only 12 seconds apart at the finish. Victory went to Sandison (30:07) as M40 Beattie (30:19) claimed the British Masters title. Jack Woods (Worthing & District Harriers, 30:36) was third.

W35 Naomi Taschimowitz (Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers, 32:32) was the clear winner of the women's race and GB Masters gold medal, followed by Kate Estlea-Morris (Aldershot Farnham & District AC, 33:22) and W40 gold winner Lauren Reed (Havering AC, 34:42).

The Runbase Events team is also responsible for the Worthing 10K on 7th June 2026 and the Brighton 10K on 15th November 2026.
