BTR Liverpool Santa Dash is organised by BTR Liverpool and is a festive 5K fun run through Liverpool city centre.
The 5K starts on Canada Boulevard at the Pier Head, close to the Royal Liver Building, before taking thousands of Santas through the city centre. The route includes the Grade I listed Royal Albert Dock and finishes outside Liverpool Town Hall. The event is untimed and has no time limit, with participants able to run, jog or walk the course.
Red and blue Santa suits are a distinctive part of the event, transforming the city centre into a mass of Santas and making the dash as much a festive celebration as a running event.
A separate 1K Mini Dash takes place from Castle Street after the main 5K and is open to children aged 12 and under, with accompanying adults able to take part.
