This relates to: Skye Bridge 10K

The Skye Bridge 10K returns on Saturday 15 August 2026, offering runners the rare opportunity to race across one of Scotland's most recognisable landmarks while taking in spectacular Highland scenery.

Held as part of the annual Kyleakin Gala celebrations, the event starts and finishes in Kyleakin on the Isle of Skye before crossing the famous Skye Bridge to Kyle of Lochalsh and back again. The unique route combines coastal views, village streets and the unforgettable experience of running across the bridge linking Skye to the Scottish mainland.

Starting from Kyleakin Main Car Park at midday, runners head through the village before crossing the bridge to Kyle of Lochalsh. The course continues along the town's main streets before turning for the return journey, finishing back in Kyleakin after a memorable 10K challenge.

Run under UK Athletics rules, the race is open to participants aged 16 and over and is limited to just 100 entries. Its combination of a spectacular location and friendly community atmosphere has made it a popular fixture on the Scottish running calendar.

The Skye Bridge itself has become one of the defining features of the race. Rising high above Loch Alsh, it offers breathtaking views across the surrounding mountains and coastline, creating a setting unlike almost any other road race in the UK. While runners may briefly forget the climb as they admire the scenery, the crossing provides a memorable test before the fast return to the finish.

Whether you're looking to tick off a truly unique 10K, enjoy a summer weekend on the Isle of Skye or simply experience one of Scotland's most scenic road races, the Skye Bridge 10K delivers an unforgettable blend of challenge, atmosphere and Highland hospitality.
