A Battle Worth Running For
The first battle you'll face with this springtime is simply securing a place, it will be fastest fingers first this weekend...
This is your reminder that entries for next year's Bosworth Half Marathon will open this weekend on 1 December, such is the popularity of the Leicestershire event that it is important you claim your place tout de suite! One of nine races in the Leicestershire Road Running League (LRRL), the springtime race will take place on 11 May.
The well organised event from Desford Striders RC is now in its 22nd year and offers runners a scenic, undulating course. Starting at Bosworth Lakeside Lodges the route travels along a rural route around the medieval town of Market Bosworth – close to the site of the final clash in the War of the Roses and passing various historical sites linked to that famous battle.
The race also boasts a fantastic venue at Bosworth Lakeside Lodges which has many on-site facilities including a shop, crazy golf and children's play area, as well as watersports, so bring along friends and family to enjoy the day too.
Organisers say: We aim to offer a well organised, great value race on a course that takes in some lovely Leicestershire scenery around the historic town of Market Bosworth."
Close to 700 took part in 2024 with Matt Scarsbrook winning the race in a time of 1:10:48. First female home was Claire Frankland in 1:22:58.
