Archerfield 10K springs back
After a very successful inaugural event in 2019, Archerfield Walled Garden has confirmed that their popular 10k will return this year.
Archerfield 10K, just one of many events staged at the North Berwick estate throughout the year, will be held on Sunday, 5 April.
In launching its very own event last year, a spokeswoman for the Archerfield Estate told runABC Scotland online: "We want the estate to be used and enjoyed by as many people as possible and hope that by organising regular runs, we will introduce the estate to many new people who will hopefully run, walk, bike the estate on their own time more often."
The multi-terrain route, which will pass though the leafy Archerfield Estate and take in the sights of Yellowcraig Beach, Fidra Island and Dirleton Castle along the way, can be run, walked or jogged.
Although the exact route is yet to be confirmed, participants should expect to tackle a variety of surfaces, which last year included sand, path, tarmac, grass and trails. As with last year, there will be entertainment along the route to keep runners moving and motivated.
Organisers also promise a return of the much-discussed-on-social-media goody bags, which last year included both chocolates and gin.
The event will be chip timed, and all runners will receive a medal; dogs on leads are welcome.
Entries to the event are limited to 500 (age 15+), with early bird rates in effect until 27 March. As organisers expect the event to sell out in advance, ‘on the day’ registration may not be possible.
