Countdown To Kilomathon
Edinburgh's Kilomathon is back next spring and now is the perfect time to book your spot...
The six month countdown is on for 2025's Kilomathon with a date of 6 April the all important one for your race diary. The event offers something a little different to the norm with a unique set of distances on offer for runners looking to move on up from traditional 10K and 5K distances.
The East Coast event takes place on Edinburgh’s beautiful cycle path network with runners enjoying a view of the historic Royal Yacht Britannia and passing through the picturesque Victoria Park. All of the fun ends with a fantastic finish in front of the West Stand at BT Murrayfield Stadium, the home of Scottish rugby.
There are two distances for adult runners to choose from with the unique distances of 13.1K or 6.5K both on offer. Organisers suggest that the longer distance is perfect for runners that are training for a full or half marathon later in the year or for those looking to step-up from a 10K. Similarly, the 6.5K offers runners an ideal step-up distance from a 5K or can be used as an excellent stepping stone for those wanting to do a 10K in the future.
The kids can take part too with a 2.6K distance on offer. This is available to children aged 6-14 years and gives them the chance to run around Murrayfield Stadium with an unforgettable finish in front of the West Stand. With crowds and supporters aplenty, it’s a great experience for any youngster!
All those taking part will be in reciept of a fantastic cache of goodies with a Kilomathon buff for keeping you warm on colder days, finisher's medal and a drawstring bag. It is also worth noting that the race action begins just outside Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre where runners and their supporters can grab a coffee and relax indoors before the main event starts.
