Put a spring in your step at the Stanton Stile Hop
5K and 10K multi-terrain races with a hop, skip or jump
Organisers of the Stanton Stile Hop are anticipating a sell-out for their late spring event as they look ahead to Saturday 22 May and the opportunity to host 5K and 10K multi-terrain races and a 2K Fun Run for Children. ‘R’ Day (‘Race Day’) can’t come soon enough for runners when they have two scenic routes to look forward to.
After a tumultuous 2020 the situation is looking much more positive as the vaccination programme gathers speed and the infection rate continues to fall. We all need some good news in the winter months... Fingers are crossed for the return of racing and here is an event that had a successful 2018 and 2019 and hopes to repeat that in 2021.
The Stanton Stile Hop 5K and 10K races are held on stunning courses that are a mixture of fields, farm tracks and woodland along with a few sleepy country lanes. Even better; there are several stiles to climb over to keep things interesting. With any luck, conditions will be warm, dry and sunny.
The 5K is a single loop that includes a gradual incline to the half way marker then continues down to the finish in Stanton. The 10K is an extension of this with both races starting and finishing in the same place at the same time and there will be plenty of signage and marshals at various points. A free 2K fun run will also take place on a flat, out and back course and contains low level obstacles for the kids to jump over.
This event supports the Midlands Air Ambulance and the organisers have asked for donations to be put in the charity buckets.
