Valentine’s Day Virtual Dash serving up a romantic run for two
There is a discount for runners who enter as a couple.
Love may be in the air but running is on the ground at the Valentine’s Day Virtual Dash from DB Max Sports Timing & Events. Runners and their partners can celebrate 14 February with a 5K or 10K and receive a rather cute Elephant medal as their reward. This is a better option and less risky than a bunch of flowers from a local petrol station...
The current lockdown means the usual ways to mark Valentine’s Day are unavailable. No candlelit supper for two at a bistro or a weekend away on a city break. But going for a run is permitted – in accordance with government guidelines whilst staying safe, and with one other person. Couples choose from a 5K or 10K on a course close to home, submit their finish times and upload a photo or selfie if they so wish.
These rules also apply to single runners who are equally welcome to enter.
There is a ‘race feel’ to this event with a printable race number, Facebook Live virtual race start at 9am, online results table that is updated throughout the day and a medal. Note: Participants must complete their run on Valentine’s Day only.
Entries are limited to 200 places and there is a 10% discount when entering the 10K as a pair. For active couples this is an opportunity for a #TrueRunmance and for singletons, a chance to show their love of running.
