West Yorkshire Trail Run

Stately Trails

Head to West Yorkshire for a trail race with a stately setting...

The RunRebel trail running series returns in 2025, offering runners a chance to experience some of England’s most breathtaking landscapes. Their events embrace the freedom of trail running, with routes that traverse stunning coastal vistas, ancient woodlands and rolling countryside.

On 15 June one of these events will take place in the north of the country - the West Yorkshire Trail Run will see runners enjoy a scenic adventure through the iconic grounds of Harewood House. Offering 22K and 13K distances, this event is a spectacular way to explore the vast natural beauty of one of Yorkshire’s most historic estates.

Organisers comment: "This event provides our runners with an opportunity to immerse themselves in a majestic 18th-century estate, with over 100 acres of lush woodlands, meticulously landscaped gardens, and tranquil lakeside views."

The course winds through serene forest trails before climbing Sugar Hill, where panoramic views of the estate unfold. The route then leads runners past filming locations for Emmerdale, adding a unique cultural twist to the experience.

One of the course’s highlights is Eccup Reservoir, the largest body of water in West Yorkshire, where runners can take in the spectacular scenery and rich biodiversity. The return journey passes through Carr Plantation and Piper Wood, offering a shaded run through ancient woodlands before reaching the estate’s tranquil lake.

Every participant will receive a finisher’s medal and a prize to celebrate their achievement. If you'd like to know more, visit the UK Running Events website.
