Walton Wobble Gears Up For Winter Outing
Pancakes are the reward for taking part in this fantastic winter event...
Entries have opened for the Walton Wobble 10K Winter Edition which will take place on 28 January. Liked by runners for the post-race pancakes as well as the challenging course, you'd better be quick if you want to line up at the start.
There is a choice of 10K (with ‘that hill’) or 5K (without ‘that hill’) on a scenic course which includes Cannock Chase. The 10K runners follow an out and back loop which includes a long steep climb up Brocton Lane and continues towards Cannock Chase.
Runners have time to admire the views and catch their breath near the water station before turning around and heading back; giving their legs a good spin on a downhill stretch as they gather speed ahead of the finish at the school.
Participants in the 5K Hill Dodger will have the advantage of returning to the school before the 10K finishers and being first in the queue for pancakes!
Those taking part can expect cheerful, enthusiastic and supportive marshals along the way who will keep everyone going right until the end. There are trophies for the top three men and women and first male and female vets. Every finisher receives a commemorative medal and can then relax and enjoy a tasty pancake and a hot drink.
