Back On The Bonnie Banks
The bonnie banks of Loch Lomond will play host to this popular event once again...
The hugely popular Run Loch Lomond events are back for 2024 with the date for the diary being 15 June. The scenic event consists of the Loch Lomond 10K, 5K and Fun Run. This may be over six months away, but organisers stress: "The Loch Lomond 10K and 5K has sold out in previous years, so it's recommended that interested runners enter promptly to avoid disappointment. There is an early bird special rate that is only available for the first 250 entries to the 10K and first 75 entries to the 5K!"
Run Loch Lomond is a fun, feel-good event that attracts all ability levels, from elite to fun runners. The long established children’s fun run also provides the opportunity for the youngest of runners to get involved.
The routes make for two of the most scenic races of the year, offering stunning views of Loch Lomond, Balloch Castle Country Park and the River Leven. In addition, the 5K and most of the 10K route does not use roadside pavements, making it far more enjoyable and almost exhaust fume free! The 5K starts shortly after the 10K race, enabling all runners to finish together, which provides a fantastic atmosphere and enhances everyones experience.
Speaking about the route, organisers explain: "Our beautiful 10K route is relatively flat and fast with stunning views of Loch Lomond. The route uses paths within Balloch Castle Country Park as well as the cycle path along the River Leven providing a relatively traffic free race.
"Our 5K route is held completely within Balloch Castle Country Park and has some inclines and declines, however the effort is well worth it for the views and the fantastic downhill finish!"
The Run Loch Lomond Team pride themselves in delivering an extremely high quality event and hope to raise significant funds for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland. In addition, other event features for runners include a Run Loch Lomond t-shirt, quality bespoke medal, snacks, water, various discount vouchers and generous prize categories.
