Walton Hall 10K is a cross country running and walking event organised by Shipston Home Nursing to raise funds for its hospice care at home service.
The 10K starts and finishes at Walton Hall near Wellesbourne in Warwickshire, a 16th century mansion set within extensive countryside overlooking a lake. The route heads through the surrounding grounds and woodland, passes through the village of Walton and returns to the Hall. It is predominantly cross country with sections of road, and the precise route can change according to weather and ground conditions.
Runners are electronically timed, while walkers can complete the same countryside route at a more leisurely pace. Entrants receive a bacon or vegetarian roll after finishing. Dogs are permitted on leads, while the course is not suitable for pushchairs. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
