Fast And Friendly Tynedale 10K Returns For 2026

Popular pie and peas 10K...

The Tynedale Pie n Peas 10K returns to Ovington and Prudhoe, Northumberland on Wednesday 1 July 2026, offering a popular evening 10K road race organised by Tynedale Harriers with a 19:30 start and finish at Tyne Riverside Country Park.

The one lap course is known for its fast and runnable profile, starting with a downhill stretch from Ovington to Ovingham before heading along the Tyne valley towards Wylam and finishing at Low Prudhoe. The mix of minor roads and gentle undulations makes it a strong option for runners targeting a quick time while still enjoying a scenic rural setting.

This well established race has built a loyal following in the North East, combining a competitive feel with a relaxed local atmosphere. Its midweek slot and reliable course layout help position it as a key fixture in the regional calendar, regularly attracting club runners and those chasing a summer 10K benchmark.

Entries are now open with a capped field of around 350 runners and no entry on the day, meaning strong demand is expected as race night approaches. Race HQ is based at the Adam and Eve pub, with runners needing to allow time to travel to the start after number collection.

Organised by Tynedale Harriers, the event reflects the club’s strong presence in the local running scene, with a focus on delivering well run, community driven races that keep runners coming back year after year. Their attention to detail and welcoming approach are a big part of what gives this race its reputation.

A unique highlight comes after the finish, with the included pie and peas meal adding a social element that sets the race apart and reinforces its reputation as one of the North East’s most enjoyable summer events.
