Yorkshire 10 Mile race nears sell-out

Time Ticking For Yorkshire Ten Miler

Run For All, organisers of the 2018 Yorkshire Marathon Festival, have advised anyone wanting to enter the 10 mile race to sign up before tomorrow Friday (5 October) as the event nears capacity ahead of race day - Sunday 14 October.

Often referred to as ‘the perfect racing distance’, the Yorkshire 10 Mile has generated quite a following since it was established in 2015 and has become a popular feature of the festival and has sold out each year.

The 10 miler incorporates many of the highlights of the 26.2 mile race – runners will begin in the centre of York and pass though various historic landmarks such as York Minster and the medieval City Walls. It travels out into the Yorkshire countryside where participants will be treated to scenic surroundings as they run down quaint country roads.

Mandy Hepworth, Asda Foundation co-ordinator, said: “We are very excited for this year’s Asda Foundation Yorkshire 10 Mile event and are expecting to raise lots of money for charity. It’s pleasing to hear that the run is once again nearing a sell-out."

Next weekend’s festival will bring in an estimated 11,000 runners to Yorkshire for what is undoubtedly one of the region’s sporting highlights - keep an eye out for runABC North’s build-up to the event.
